Fitbit is back with a new fitness tracker through the Charge 5. Set to be available globally, including the Philippines, by September, the Fitbit Charge 5 improves over last year’s Charge 4 by adding several new sensors to it.
These include an ECG sensor for detecting Atrial Fibrillation (AFib), an EDA (ElectorDermal Activity) sensor for tracking stress levels, and sensors for calculating Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and Resting Heart Rate (RHR). With all these sensors onboard, Fitbit aims to make the Charge 5 a wearable that will guide you towards better overall wellbeing.
Even more impressive is that Fitbit managed to add all those sensors to the Charge 5 while making it 10% slimmer than the Charge 4. There are a few design changes as well: the Charge 5 now has a new Infinity Band that is made for workouts, along with a 1.04-inch color OLED display that is 2x brighter than the one on the Charge 4. New to the display is the addition of an AoD. With the AoD and the SpO2 sensor disabled, the Charge 5 can last for up to 7 days on a single charge. With continuous GPS tracking, the Charge 5 is rated for up to 5 hours.
Beyond its functionality as a fitness tracker, the Charge 5 has a built-in NFC that lets you pay for things using Fitbit Pay, along with 50m water resistance, support for Android notifications and quick replies, and 20 faces to choose from.
Fitbit Charge 5 Philippines Price
The Charge 5 will be priced at Php 11,990 and will include six months of Fitbit Premium. It will be available at major retailers such as Digital Walker and Fitbit’s Official Store on, Lazada and Shopee.
