vivo adds another 4G-only Y-series model in its portfolio in India with the Y33s. The budget mid-range phone has a number of similarities with the Y31 (2021) that launched in the Philippines early this year, and is slightly better in some aspects.
vivo Y33s Philippines Specs:
- Helio G80 processor
- 8GB RAM
- 128GB UFS 2.1 storage (expandable via MicroSD)
- 6.58-inch Full HD+ (1080×2408) IPS display
- 50-megapixel f/1.8 main camera with PDAF, 2-megapixel f/2.4 macro camera, 2-megapixel f/2.4 depth sensor
- 16-megapixel f/1.8 selfie camera
- LTE, 4G
- WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, side-mounted fingerprint scanner
- 5000mAh battery
- 18w fast charging
- Android 11, FunTouch OS 11
Instead of a Snapdragon 662, the Y33s uses an Helio G80 processor, which has a more powerful GPU and is slightly better than the Qualcomm processor in synthetic benchmarks. It does come with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, but the Y33s now has vivo’s Extended RAM feature, which lets you use up to 4GB of your internal storage as RAM, bumping total RAM to as much as 12GB.
The Y33s has a better set of cameras than the Y31 (2021) with a 50-megapixel f/1.8 main rear camera and a 16-megapixel selfie snapper. The two 2-megapixel cameras remain on the Y33s, and it also has the same 6.58-inch Full HD+ IPS panel found on the Y31 (2021). The battery capacity remains the same at 5000mAh, along with 18w USB-C charging.
vivo Y33s Price
The Y33s is priced at INR 17,990(~Php 12.2k) and is now available in India. Given that it has roughly the same SRP as the Y31 (2021) in the Philippines, it remains to be seen if vivo will make this phone available at our shores.
