Through the initiative of the Department of Transportation (DOTRr), Grab Philippines will provide free shuttle services to passengers coming from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
The announcement was made by DOTr Undersecretary for Road Transportation and Infrastructure Mark Steven Pastor.
According to him, it will further promote tourism in the country while complementing the department’s ongoing ‘Libreng Sakay’ program at the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3).
Starting June 15 until June 30, 100 GrabRent shuttles will be made available to passengers daily from 8 to 11 p.m.
The free rides may be booked from the Grab booth at the arrival areas of NAIA Terminals 2 and 3.
In a separate statement, Grab Philippines expressed its gratitude to the current administration.
“We thank President Rodrigo Duterte and the DOTr under the leadership of Secretary Art Tugade for launching the Libreng Sakay program, as well as other valuable projects that continue to benefit the Filipino commuters,” Grab said.
The free shuttle services will work hand in hand with the ‘Libreng Sakay’ program, which the Department of Transportation (DOTr) extended until June 30.
According to Philippine National Railways General Manager Jun Magno, “they are leaving it up to the next administration, should they decide to adopt the ‘Libreng Sakay’ initiative.”
