Xiaomi has revealed its latest line of Redmibook Pro laptops. These upgrades are exclusively for the AMD Ryzen versions since those outfitted with Intel CPUs are now updated to the 12th generation.
The latest base models of the Xiaomi Redmibook Pro line carry Ryzen 6600H processors. It is a 6-core/12-thread processor with an AMD 660M GPU that is said to be better than previous generations. Upper models get the stronger Ryzen 6800 chips, increasing core count to 8 with 16 threads and a clock speed increase from 1.9 GHz to 2.2 GHz. RAM and storage both only have one option each, at a healthy 16GB and 512GB respectively.
Now we’ll illustrate the differences between the 2 models on sale: The Xiaomi Redmibook Pro 14 and 15 versions.
The smaller laptop understandably has a 14-inch 2.5K display. This is plenty of resolution to keep things clean and sharp, with a 120Hz refresh rate projecting content in a buttery-smooth fashion. Ports onboard include 2 USB Type-C ports, 1 USB Type-A port, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmibook Pro 15 comes equipped with a 15.6-inch panel with a 3.2K resolution, but with a lower refresh rate at 90Hz. Whether this increase in resolution at the cost of 30Hz is worth it will depend on the end-user. This display can also get as bright as 400 nits, 100 more than its 14-inch sibling. Ports included are the same as the 14 but this one adds an SD card reader.
Should you need more graphical performance, a discrete GPU option can be ticked but only on the Xiaomi Redmibook Pro 15. The GPU in question is the NVIDIA RTX 2050 with 4GB of GDDR6 VRAM. Despite belonging to the previous-generation 20 series of NVIDIA GPUs, it is still a strong contender that is also an option in the Intel version.
