ASUS revealed its first batch of new ROG gaming laptops in Taiwan with the Flow X16 and the Strix Scar 17 Special Edition.
The Flow X16 is one of the biggest 2-in-1 laptops to date with its 16-inch QHD Mini LED panel with a 165hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 gamut coverage. It’s a powerful 2-in-1 too with its use of a Ryzen 9 6900HS processor that’s paired with an RTX 3070Ti GPU, up to 64GB DDR5 RAM, and up to 2TB SSD storage–with the latter offering a second open M.2 slot for future upgrades.
Like the rest of the ROG Flow 2-in-1 laptops, the X16 supports ASUS’ XG Mobile line of external GPUs in case you need extra oomph for your gaming needs.
The Strix SCAR 17 SE is all about power with its Core i9-12950HX processor with 65W TDP, an RTX 3080Ti GPU with up to 175w TDP, and an exclusive use of Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal paste applied to both the CPU and GPU to max out its performance.
The Strix SCAR 17 SE’s 17-inch display can be configured with either a QHD 240z panel or a Full HD 360hz one, with both offering a 3ms response time, Dolby Vision, and support for Adaptive Sync. Onboard, you can configure the Strix SCAR 17 SE with up to 64GB DDR5 RAM and PCIe 4 SSD storage with an option for a RAID-0 array.
Aside from the two new gaming laptops, ASUS also updates its ROG Slash line with a Crossbody bag, Backpack, Hip Bag, Protective Laptop Bag, Cobra Buckle Cap, and Bucket Hat.
Stay tuned for ASUS’ announcement on the local availability of the ROG Flow X16 and Strix SCAR 17 SE.
