The most-awaited Civic variant is about to officially launch. Mark your calendars as the all-new 2023 Honda Civic Type R will make its global debut on July 21, 10:00 AM.
Honda hasn’t revealed much details surrounding the all-new Civic Type R. However, according to reports, the all-new model is still a mean front-wheel-drive machine with more than 300 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. With that power figure, it probably comes with Honda’s 2.0-liter VTEC Turbo engine, paired to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Whatever the specifications are, Honda promised that the all-new model will be the best handling Civic Type R ever.
Recently, Honda officials confirmed that the all-new model has set a new FWD track record at Suzuka. However, its time was only a second faster than the previous record-holder, which happened to be the current Civic Type R.
The launching of the all-new Honda Civic Type R is just in time for Civic’s 50th anniversary, as well as Type R’s 30th anniversary this year. As of writing, the Civic nameplate has sold around 27 million units in over 170 countries across 11 generations.
Unfortunately, the 2023 Honda Civic Type R will be the last high-revving Type R accord to reports.
