After confirming that the ROG Phone 6 will be among the first phones to use the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, ASUS announced that they will officially unveil their latest gaming phone globally on July 5 via a virtual launch event in Taiwan.
Aside from the ROG Phone 6, ASUS added that they will be announced new gaming accessories and a new gaming headset under the sub-brand.
With the ROG Phone 5 having three models, we expect the ROG Phone 6 to have three models as well: a vanilla model, a Pro model, and a decked-out Ultimate model.
We don’t know what the ROG Phone 6 will look like, but the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1-powered ROG Prototype that was lent to a number of media outfits should give us a brought idea of what the phone will more or less look like.
We expect the ROG Phone 6 to have roughly the same dimensions as its predecessors. This should ensure compatibility with some of ASUS’ current crop of ROG Phone accessories.
Other expected features include a large 6000mAh battery, at least 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, gaming triggers, and a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 144hz refresh rate and 1ms response game for an extra-smooth gaming experience.
