Building up much hype on its next product, Nothing has officially unveiled the Phone (1), which is an upper mid-range smartphone that has a unique design. Following the design cues of the Ear (1), the Phone (1) comes with a transparent back panel that houses a series of LED lights for its unique Glyph Interface. The LED lights serve multiple purposes, ranging from notification alerts, battery charging status, to also functioning as a ring light for the cameras.
Speaking of the cameras, Nothing kept it simple and straightforward with a dual rear camera setup. The main camera is a 50-megapixel IMX766 sensor that has both OIS and EIS on board, with the secondary camera being a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. Selfies are taken care of by a 16-megapixel shooter that’s housed in a punch hole.
The display is a 6.55-inch Full HD+ Flexible OLED display with symmetrical bezels across all four sides, along with a 120hz refresh rate, 240hz touch sampling, in-display fingerprint scanner, and support for 10-bit color. Keeping the lights on is a 4500mAh battery that supports 33w wired charging, 15w wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. The Phone (1) uses recycled aluminum for the frame and Gorilla Glass 5 for the display and the back panel.
Powering the Phone (1) is a Snapdragon 778G+ processor that’s paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. You get Android 12 out of the box, along with Nothing OS.
