It has been quite a while since the FreeBuds Pro became official late in 2020, and Huawei finally announced its successor with the FreeBuds Pro 2. Huawei’s new flagship TWS earbuds have dual drivers, three microphones for as much as 47 dB of noise suppression, and an IP54 rating.
The dual-driver design brings in a Hi-Res Dual Sound system that supports a very broad frequency range of 14 Hz to 48k Hz. To make the most out of the new design, Huawei added an adaptive equalizer that tweaks the overall sound of the FreeBuds Pro 2 according to the user’s needs. Sound tweaking is done in partnership with Devialet, so expect better overall audio quality compared to its predecessor.
Noise-canceling gets a big improvement too, as the FreeBuds Pro can suppress as much as 47dB–higher than the 40dB noise suppression claim of its predecessor and the highest noise suppression rating on a pair of TWS earbuds. The FreeBuds Pro 2 supports Bluetooth 5.2, along with LDAC, AAC, and SBC codecs.
When it comes to battery life, the FreeBuds Pro 2 are rated for up to 4 hours with ANC on and up to 6.5 hours with ANC off. Overall playback time with the case is 18 hours with ANC on and 30 hours with ANC off.
The FreeBuds 2 Pro is priced at CZK 4999(~Php 11.8k) and will go on sale on July 11 in the Czech Republic.
