A new CALAX interchange is set to open in the latter part of 2022. This new interchange will shorten the travel time going to Tagaytay, especially if you’re coming from Manila.

New CALAX Interchange To Lessen Travel Time to Tagaytay

Once operational, the new Silang Aguinaldo Interchange will be a convenient alternative exit of CALAX for motorists coming from Metro Manila going to Tagaytay City, aside from the Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road Interchange.

As of writing, it has reached 56% completion. Ongoing works include drainage and bridge constructions, excavation and roadway earthworks, and installation of fence and coco net.

The interchange is just 16 kilometers away from the city proper of Tagaytay via Aguinaldo Highway.

Other CALAX interchanges such as the Open Canal, Governor’s Drive, and Kawit are targeted to be completed by 2023.

“The Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange will help decongest the busiest highway in the province of Cavite — the 41-kilometer Emilio Aguinaldo Highway,” MPCALA Holdings president and general manager Raul Ignacio said.

“Motorists from Manila going to the famous tourist destinations of Silang and Tagaytay, Cavite will surely benefit from this upcoming project as it offers convenience and shorter travel time,” he added.

CALAX is a 45-kilometer expressway by a public-private partnership between the Department of Public Works and Highways and MPCALA Holdings, a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corp.
