It has been a good few weeks since Unbox Con 2022 happened, and the collectors-focused event was a success. Among all the highlights that occurred during Unbox Con, one of the crowd drawers was the booth of Ox Street, which was by itself a unique experience.
To challenge all sneakerheads in the event, Ox Street presented two pairs of Air Jordan 1 High OGs in the much-coveted “Mocha” colorway. Unlike the rest of the sneakers that were being sold or exhibited during Unbox Con, Ox Street engaged everyone by letting them be the judge on which was the real pair and which was the fake pair. Those who were able to guess the real pair get included in the raffle, where the winner gets to order his/her own pair in their own size.
At least 700 participants were up to the challenge to determine the real pair from the fake one, and Ox Street’s findings were surprising: from the responses of the participants (where they scan a QR code and typed in their answers), around 55% were able to correctly guess the real pair, while 45% got it wrong. This corroborates with Ox Street’s previous data where at least 40% could not identify the real pair.
Aside from engaging participants in their unique booth (Ox Street gained at least 400 new sign-ups to their platform), Ox Street‘s participation in Unbox Con provided a much-important discussion on having sneakers properly authenticated especially when they are bought from resellers. As a rising platform for buying and selling sneakers, Ox Street wants to bring peace of mind to its customers, ensuring that the sneakers and streetwear they purchase are authentic.
