The 2022 Toyota Lite Ace is finally here in the Philippines, available in two variants—Panel van and Pickup. Toyota have brought back the iconic nameplate from the 80s to provide mobility to Filipino business owners.
The light commercial vehicle (LCV) is powered by a 1.5-liter 2NR-VE four-cylinder engine with Dual VVT-i. It’s the same engine as that of the Avanza, Veloz, Vios and Yaris. The engine produces 98 PS at 6000 rpm and 134 Nm of torque at 4400 RPM.
Both variants are equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission and an electric power steering for convenience. As for suspension, it is MacPherson type at the front, then at the rear, it’s 5-link coil spring for the van variant and leaf spring for the pickup variant.
Safety-wisw, the all-new Lite Ace comes with airbags for both driver and passenger as standard. However, only the van variant has vehicle stability control (VSC) and only the pickup variant has anti-lock brakes.
“The launch of the All-New Lite Ace will bring us even closer to fully realizing our goal of Mobility for All,” said Sherwin Chualim, TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations. “With TMP’s entry into this new vehicle category, we aim to empower and enable more Filipino business owners, whether they’re just starting or looking to expand. Our goal is to help them progress and maximize income through a Toyota vehicle that’s simple to acquire, reliable to use, and easy to maintain.”
